On the legendary sailboat to discover Palermo from the sea
Discover Palermo from an unusual point of view: from the sea on which the city lies. This is the opportunity offered to the participants on the Saturday and Sunday, with a tour on a sailing boat, which takes place on an almost legendary boat for Palermo: Lisca Bianca on board which the Albeggiani family made a tour around the world in the 70s. Forgotten for many years, Lisca Bianca was recovered as part of a project with the young people of the Malaspina youth gale and has returned to sail the sea. You can see the skyline of the city sailing towards the seaside villages of Acquasanta and Arenella or, on the contrary, towards Sant’Erasmo (the skipper will decide which direction to go on the basis of the wind). An opportunity not to be missed to look at landscapes that recall the marinas of the great nineteenth-century landscape painters, from Lojacono to Leto.

Palermo from above, to discover the representations of the genius
We will also find the Genius from heaven: the (beloved) flights aboard Piper quadriposto departing from Boccadifalco’s Aero Club Palermo return, but this time the fil rouge will be precisely the tutelary deity of the city, since they will fly over (at the minimum quota foreseen for civil flights) the places of the Engineers, and therefore Villa Giulia, Piazza Revolution, Palazzo delle Aquile, and then continue towards Mondello and return to Boccadifalco. And it will also be a way to discover both the genius of Leonardo and his studies on the principles of flight, and the pioneer Clemente Ravetto, a Piedmontese pilot trained in France and then established in Palermo who on 1 May 1910 rose towards the sky, making the first flight from Southern Italy.
For all ages, minors accompanied by at least one adult. The flight will not take place in unfavorable weather conditions. Participants must arrive 15 minutes before the flight to receive general information and on the behaviors to be adopted for the safety of the flight. They will have to sign the application form for the initiative with the authorization to process personal data. They will have to deliver a photocopy of their identity document. Duration: 25 min.
